Matchmaking for raids, is there raid matchmaking in destiny 2?
What else is left besides voice chat? They said they aren't designed around the healer, tank, DPS trinity, since everyone will have guns and be dealing damage, but it is made clear that everyone will have a role to play. The more this game is described as a MMO-shooter-lite the less interested I am. Got my full VoG matchmaking for raids gear the first month, signed in a couple weeks later and found out that Dark Below relased and now my VoG gear was all but useless and out classed by the new vendor gear, and that I had to yet again best free dating site in chennai out the new raids for max light level gear all over again.
I've never found that to be a requirement in MMOs though, if you know what you're doing ahead of time. How are you supposed to have a six man raid with no Matchmaking and no communication because as far as I can tell that game has no on talking to each other at all.

I don't doubt that certain class combos will do better than others, but it shouldn't end up like an MMO where it's literally impossible if you don't have a tank tanking the boss and a healer keeping your group alive. They don't, for instance, cater to the guy who games and talks to his wife at the same time. I suppose it could depend on how much other end-game content there is. Even when you're on a fireteam match made for the Strike there was no voice chat unless you joined a PSN party.
Bungie's response is that the way chat functioned in the beta only in Fireteams was that they wanted to encourage "positive communication" among players. I'm sure Lincoln Force EU will pull through.
Announced back in May, the new mode allows clan members known here as "guides" to invite one or two players dubbed "seekers" to join them for raids and Nightfall missions.
I just want to push a button and start.
There will be no relying on tanks or healers to do their part to keep the team alive, there's no CC or debuffs, and I can't imagine they will have random matchmakings for raids that wouldn't be able to prepare for in advance. And frankly, I really can't imagine any scenario in Destiny that would require more intricate strategies than your average MMO. And it worked pretty well! It's hard to know to what extent that stuff will matter without have played these missions yet, but I think assuming it won't matter at all is a bit premature, and you'd have to imagine having some support oriented classes would be important.

Personally, I'm totally down with this idea. I'm sure they will be important in the sense that every player will need to play their class to the fullest to succeed, but I feel like they made it quite clear that you should not have to search out specific classes and specs to succeed. If there's other stuff to do it might be fine, but if raiding is where all the meaningful stuff happens then not getting a group together could be real frustrating.
Additionally guess what 6 people aint a raid, that's a pickup group. Quality raid content that could be accomplished with zero communication would be surprising no matter what genre we're discussing.
There is a trade-off to be made here, do Bungie want people to have access to their raids whenever they want sacrificing the community feeling or do they want groups to remain small and unique restricting play to matchmaking for raids friends are online.
They don't cater to all types, they cater to one matchmaking for raids. Cool for the new kids though coming up and wanting to play a decent online grinder. Yes, how dare they not allow matchmaking with random pubbie players for raids that require precise timing, knowledge of what is going on, intelligent, a high set of skills in shooting and movement, switching weapons, shame on them, pre-order cancelled! But I also hope that means there are more 6 person fireteam content--explore at least.
There are going to be some challenges in Destiny 2 that follow the same philosophy: They could get rid of the trash mobs but then you'd have no source of bullets. Then they released the ability to re-upgrade your old gear to higher stats of the latest expansion, but the materials involved took just as much grinding to obtain as re-earning all that matchmaking for raids all over again anyway.
If you watch that recent IGN video where they talk about raids they explicitly state those roles do not exist and will not be required for raids. I better find five friends into this game enough to have end game gear like I will. The concept excites me.
Netflix: We won't make 'House of Cards' with Kevin Spacey involved
Anyways, not sure I understand this correctly. You guys don't know what the raid looks like and what it requires. This also means I am going to need to bulk up my PS4 friends: And even if not that pool, there will be countless groups available.
